e-Qualitas is committed to working with partnership schools to promote the positive mental and emotional health and wellbeing of trainees, mentors, and tutors and to provide appropriate support and guidance where needed.
All of our work is guided by three principles:
- Trainees, mentors and tutors are at the heart of everything we do
- We are committed to discovering and sharing the best way to help trainees, mentors and tutors and our partnership schools affected by issues around wellbeing
- To strengthen our impact through collaboration and partnership.
Mental Health and Well-being
What do we mean when we talk about Mental Health/Well-being?
People often jump straight to thinking about mental illness, but that is only part of the picture. We all have mental health – it is how we think about ourselves and those around us, how we feel, and how we behave in different situations. It is also about how we handle stress, make choices and relate to others.
At times in our lives we can all face difficulties and challenges – being mentally healthy gives us the strength to cope positively.
We regularly remind our trainees that they can use the Listening@e-qualitas.co.uk link on our website which would allow you to access support without coming directly to talk to someone. There is more information about what we offer on our website.

“These days so many of us use apps in our everyday life for anything from shopping to entertainment, travel, but have you considered using them to help look after your wellbeing and mental health? There are now more and more apps out there that can help you manage your general wellbeing. Listed below are some apps to get you started. Whilst these apps can be useful, they are not a replacement for seeking medical advice if you have concerns about any symptoms you are experiencing.” Mind 2018
Headspace – Meditation has been shown to help people stress less, focus more and even sleep better. Headspace is mediation made simple, helping you develop skills of mediation and mindfulness in just a few minutes a day.
Relax Melodies – A relaxation and sleep app that allows you to select sounds and melodies that you like and combine them to create a mix. Perfect for those nights where you’re struggling to get to sleep.
Daylio – Enables you to keep a private diary without having to type a single link. Pick your mood and add activities you have been doing during the day. You can also add notes and keep an old-school diary. This format will help you to understand your habits better.
What’s Up – Free app utilising some of the best CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) methods to help you cope with Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and more!

Mental Music – An award-winning music-based series of podcasts, created for teens by teens, focusing on the topic of teenage mental health issues. Episodes by these 2 Australian teenagers include interviews with professionals and music written by students.
Dr Pooky Nightsmith explores how to tackle the mental well-being goals of getting enough sleep, eating well, keeping active, taking notice (stopping, being mindful of a moment and things around you), connecting, the act of giving (brighten someone else’s day), keep learning and finally do things that you enjoy purely for yourself. Dr Pooky Nightsmith talks from both a professional and personal perspective. She also has a Vlog on a range of topics.
e-Qualitas are also launching the MeeToo app which allows you to talk anonymously about difficult things with other people of a similar age or experience. You can get help with your problems or use your experiences to help others. The app is a safe space where all posts and replies are checked before going live so there is no harassment, bullying or grooming.
